The Rip

No, The Rip is not about the time I tried to squeeze into my pants from  sophomore year at the office Christmas party. I apologize for that incident and thank management for dropping the charges. I assure you, I had no idea the fabric was that weak.

This movie is a new Netflix release starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The two play detectives on an elite narcotics team investigating the death of one of their own as they hunt to seize stockpiles of illicit drug money. When they hit a safe house containing $20 million, things get complicated. And not a whimsical complicated like Zac Morris trying to take two dates to the Bayside Prom without the other knowing. No. This is the high stakes drug cartel kind of complicated where you don’t know who is corrupt and who will betray the team for money.

In conclusion, we’re giving this our “Go to the Theater to See” rating. It has nothing to do with the fact that we really like Matt Damon and refuse to say anything ill about his projects because we hope to be friends with him one day. This careful decision is based on the fact that this film is an enjoyable, gritty crime drama with plenty of suspense and action. Unfortunately, you can’t see this movie in theaters because it’s exclusively on Netflix, but it should be watched nevertheless. Some things are just meant to be seen…unlike the rip at the Christmas party mentioned earlier. I sure hope they scrubbed that security footage.
