The Naked Gun (2025)
Who do you get to replace the legendary Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun series? How about the classically trained actor who played Oscar Schindler, Liam Neeson? Their names are pretty similar. Change a couple of letters and you could probably even reuse some of the old posters for marketing. But you know what? Nielsen, I mean Neeson, nailed it!
This movie follows the tone of the originals and I constantly found myself laughing at things that were so stupid but objectively hilarious. There’s a brand of humor in here for everyone, from dad jokes to movie spoofs to cleverly written monologues to other jokes I don’t even know how to categorize. The point is if there’s one joke you don’t like, wait 10 seconds and there will be another one that fits your comedic style.
In conclusion, we’re giving this our “Rent It” rating. While it doesn’t have huge cinematic scenes and sound that you might want to experience on the big screen, we highly encourage you to pay money for this watch. Like the albino python, comedies are a dying breed these days. It’s up to us to save them! So if you’ve got some spare time and money, head to the movies for a fun night out. But if you’ve can’t make it, at a minimum, rent it to show that comedies are worth making! After all, the world needs more laughter, not pythons.
