Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning
I should not have been charged full price for my seat at this movie, because I only used the edge of it. The Mission Impossible franchise once again delivers big screen action like only Mission Impossible can. The franchise is known for capturing practical stunts in a very cinematic way, and this addition is no exception. From Tom Cruise literally hanging on to the wing of an airplane, to an underwater sequence with superior sound, to actually filming in the Arctic Circle, this movie is full of amazing spectacles. And by spectacles, I mean visually striking performances…not small rounded glasses that you might find on a cobbler’s nose.
Look, you already know what you’re getting with this movie. If you liked the others, you’ll like this. If you watched the other seven films and didn’t like them (why did you keep watching them?), you probably won’t like this one, but watch it anyways because, I mean, come on, you’ve already watched seven of them. If I had any critiques, it’d be that I wish the Mission Impossible theme was played more within the movie itself, but the scoring is still fantastic.
There are a few little things one could nitpick about, but in the end this is meant to be seen on the big screen. If you plan on watching this movie at all, I encourage you to see it in the theater on an IMAX screen. Based on this, we are giving this film our “Go to Theater to See” rating. @TomCruise hung on to an airplane wing at Zero-G’s for our entertainment, the least we can do is take a look. Just remember to bring your spectacles if you wear them (this time I’m referring to eyewear).
