Deadpool & Wolverine

What can I say about Deadpool & Wolverine that hasn’t already been said about Citizen Cane, The Godfather, or Casablanca? It’s a cinematic masterpiece that our grandkids will no doubt be watching on Turner Classic Movies one day (if Turner Classic Movies shifts its tone some and allows gratuitous violence, prolific swearing and pegging references…wow Disney.)

Look, I’m a Marvel fan and I can’t convey how much I enjoyed this. When the movie wanted to be funny, it was. When it wanted to deliver exhilarating, heart pounding action sequences with slow motion sparks, it did. And yet when it wanted to have emotional moments, you still buy into them and take those moments seriously despite all the fourth-wall breaking action and comedy that occurred just moments earlier.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, we’re giving this our “Go to the theater to see” rating. Deadpool & Wolverine delivers a great action-comedy experience with plenty of fan service that one may have thought we’d never get a chance to experience on the big screen. And obviously, leave the kids at home for this one. This movie is about as family friendly as a toy store in mine field.
